The Salem Willows Black Festival aka Negro Election Day is the oldest Black History Event in the Country, setting its sites to become the largest Black Historical Tradition in New England.  Since 1885, Salem Willows Park has been the picnic’s annual location and has always included barbecues, volleyball games, dances and more.  The event includes a parade featuring black unsung hero’s of yesterday while honoring the accomplishments of today’s unsung heroes.   Entertainment is offered throughout the day, and there is no admission charge to enter the festival.
